Lessons must be purchasedbefore the first class starts.
After payment/registration, the student is then in a “credit position” to receive lessons as purchased.
Lesson purchases are valid for 12 months from the date when the first lesson is taken.
Private Lessons are 45 minutes and Lesson Programs are 60 minutes in duration.
The Coaches' schedules are subject to last minute changes so it's possible you may have a different coach during a group lesson.
Accepted forms of payment: MasterCard, Visa, and AMEX.
5% GST is applicable to all lesson purchases.
Exception: 5% GST is not applied to youth group lessons that qualify as educational programs.
Scheduling Lessons
Golf Camps and Long-Term Player Development Programs follow set schedules for dates and times.
Private lessons have flexible schedules and may be arranged through the Acuity online scheduling app or directly with a coach.
Once students begin private lessons with a coach, they will remain with their coach unless permission to change coaches is requested by emailing:[email protected].
Cancelling Lessons
GOLF CAMPS, GET GOLF READY CLASSES and LONG-TERM PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS When registering for a golf camp or multi-lesson program, the customer is purchasing one of a limited number of ‘spots’ available. Once all camp or program ‘spots’ are sold, other customers are prevented from getting into the camp or program. When a customer asks to cancel out of a camp or program, it means the registration ‘spot’ needs to be re-sold to a new customer to maintain financial commitments made to instructors. To refund and resell a ‘spot’ takes administrative time and effort, plus additional third-party processing fees. It’s not the same as returning a gift to a store and asking for a full refund, as re-selling a gift doesn’t have the same time limitation as a lesson camp or program. For these reasons, our cancellation policy is based on mutual respect for the urgency of time and fair business principles.
FULL REFUND - If you provide 15 or more days of advance notice:
Receive a full refund less the non-refundable $25 third-party processing fee (see Processing Fee below).
Or receive a full credit (100% of payment amount) for a future camp or program within the same calendar year (since there is no refund involved, there is no third-party financial processing fee applied).
PARTIAL REFUND - If you provide 6-14 days advance notice:
Receive full refund less $100 cancellation fee (this amount includes the $25 third-party processing fee).
NO REFUND - If you provide less than 6 days advance notice:
We are sorry, but there are no refunds or credits.
CANCELLATION PROCEDURE
All cancellation/refund requests must be sent to: [email protected]which provides an accurate record of the date and time the request is submitted.
Cancellation dates/times are determined from 9:00 am Vancouver time on the date of the first class.
PROCESSING/CANCELLATION FEE Fraserview Golf Academy uses a separate, third-party financial service provider to process all online lesson payments. When any changes are made after the initial purchase (i.e., refunds), there are additional non-refundable processing fees charged by this third-party provider to Fraserview Golf Academy. Therefore, Fraserview Golf Academy cannot refund this processing fee for cancellations since this fee applies to the Academy. The third-party processing fee is currently $25 and will be deducted from any lesson refund. A refund may take up to 14 days.
MISSED LESSONS by Student
Lessons/classes missed, cancelled, or a “no show” by the student are forfeited and there will be no refund, credit, or make-up classes.
This includes, but is not limited to, the following reasons: illness (including Covid-19 and variants), accidents, hospitalization, scheduling conflicts and/or travelling conflicts.
STUDENT ILLNESS
Students must not attend lessons/classes if they are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (fever, coughing, runny nose, shortness of breath, vomiting, headache, etc.) or any respiratory illness.
Instructors may ask students to leave the class if they pose a health risk to others.
CANCELLING PRIVATE LESSONS Like the cancellation procedure for golf camps or multi-lesson programs, cancelling or changing a private lesson requires a respectful amount of advance notice toavoid financial loss to the instructor/coach and a cancellation penalty being applied to the student.
A minimum of 48 hours advance notice is required to cancel or change a private lesson.
To cancel or change a private lesson, the student must contact the coach directly by text or email, which creates an accurate time record (see Coach contact information in the ABOUT FGA tab - Coaching Team section).
Providing less than 48 hours advance notice will result in a 50% reduction in lesson time at the student’s next lesson.
WAITLIST PROCESS
Students may request to be placed on an active waitlist for classes/camps that are full and will receive notification should a cancellation create an opening. The waitlist does not guarantee access to a class/camp.
Requests to be placed on an active waitlist must be made by email to: [email protected]
RELEASE The student assumes all risks incidental to participating in lessons, practice and other services, whether such activity is held inside or outside Fraserview Golf Academy. The student releases Fraserview Golf Academy from all liability and represents that the student is in good health and has no special physical needs or limitations, unless otherwise disclosed to Fraserview Golf Academy.
*******Students/Parents are required to sign a waiver upon registration for camps/lessons/programs******
Student / Parent Waiver I (student/parent) understand and accept that there are inherent risks of injury involved in sport and recreation activities.
I voluntarily accept these risks and I hereby authorize any employee/staff member working on-site at Fraserview Golf Course – including Clubhouse, Grounds Crew, Golf Shop, and Golf Academy, to act for me according to his/her best judgement in any emergency requiring medical attention and hereby waive and release the staff from any and all liability for any injuries and illness incurred. I assume all risks of injury whatsoever and agree to hold harmless FGA facilities and programs from claim(s) of any nature arising from activity, including transportation, connected with FGA. (Parents: Junior Golf Camps/Programs) I consent to the communication of information regarding my child's participation with FGA via the internet. I hereby give FGA and participating agencies permission to use files, videotape and/or photography for lawful promotional purposes. For safety reasons, behavior must be respectful, compliant and responsible. Discipline will be strict, and serious violations of discipline could involve removal from a class (for juniors, this would involve a call to a parent or guardian to arrange for the junior to return home). Only golf students are permitted in lesson areas during group classes. Parents, family, friends, etc., are not permitted to watch in the lesson area during group classes, as this distracts other students, or negatively affects their experience. Parents/friends may watch from a distance but are not permitted to venture onto the golf course due to safety concerns, as per Vancouver Park Board Policy. Only golf students who are registered for camps or programs are permitted to participate. Siblings/friends are not permitted to substitute into classes without express permission from the Director of Instruction.
